Police intervene in domestic dispute about Uber driving

Darien police intervened in a domestic dispute on Aug. 30 that started when the victim refused to let a teenage family member use their car as an Uber driver. According to police, the victim had gotten into an argument with a younger family member after she forbid him from using one of her cars for the riding-sharing service.

She told police he pushed her in an attempt to take the car key and went on to destroy the key fob all together. When she attempted to confront him he picked up a golf club and held it in what was described as a menacing manner. The victim then said she was going to contact the police, and the individual pushed her again.

Police responded to the scene and issued a misdemeanor summons for disorderly conduct and he was due in court the next day, Aug. 31.
