The first question for what to expect from the state champs has been answered.

Expect Darien to hold the line once more in 2017.

Our linemen are the heart and soul of our football team.

“Over 40 teams from Conn. compete and once again our linemen won the entire event for the fourth year in a row,” said Darien coach Rob Trifone of the high school football Strongman competition.

Darien took the overall title dominating most events at the annual summer tussle this month.

And captain Mike Neary won the Nick Zuk Memorial Top Lineman award.

“Our linemen are the heart and soul of our football team,” said Trifone. “And the CT Lineman Challenge has become an annual event that gives our offensive and defensive lineman an opportunity to demonstrate how hard they train.”
