The town held a 9/11 ceremony this morning at 8:30 a.m. Town officials, first responders from the town’s police and fire departments, and the Darien Monuments and Ceremonies commission placed roses at the 9/11 memorial at Middlesex Middle School. A moment of silence was observed at 8:45 a.m., the time when the first plane struck the north tower of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.
