Gov. Malloy is set to speak at the League of Women Voters kick off luncheon in September at The Country Club of Darien
This fall, Gov. Dan P. Malloy will be the featured speaker at the Darien League of Women Voters kick-off luncheon on Tuesday, Sept. 18. He will speak about the importance of elections, voting, and what the governor has done to increase participation.
The event will be held at noon at the Country Club of Darien with an 11:45 a.m. check-in time. The program is open to League of Women Voters members and their guests and the cost of the lunch will be $40.00.
On June 4, Malloy signed in to law “An Act Concerning Voting Rights” that is designed to make voter registration more efficient and increase participation in elections.The governor will discuss this legislation and how it will work to permit eligible Connecticut residents to register to vote on-line and increase voter turnout.
As the league points out, “Democracy is not a spectator sport.”
