On Saturday, Feb. 18, Building Blocks will host Darien native Scarlett Lewis for a special presentation on the Choose Love Movement. This free event is open to the public and will be held at Woodway Country Club in Darien, at 3 pm. Adults only.
This is the second year that the children and staff at our centers have participated in the Social Emotional Awareness Week which was started by the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Foundation. The children at BBELC locations celebrated the week by taking part in activities that show how we can Choose Love and show kindness and empathy towards others.
The SEL Awareness Week is a Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement initiative to bring attention to the importance of teaching children core competencies and skills, beyond academics, that can help them thrive physically, mentally and emotionally. Social and Emotional Learning is a proactive and preventative mental health initiative that has been proven to reduce anxiety, addiction and behavioral issues while increasing student performance, physical and emotional well-being.
