An evening stroll turned into a moment of uneasiness for a Darien woman as she watched a teenager zip by her on a skateboard while exposing himself on Monday, Aug. 13.
The woman was walking south on Nearwater Lane at 7:50 p.m. when she saw a white male, roughly 15 years old with ear-length, dark brown hair, skateboarding in the same direction. He passed the woman, then turned around and headed back toward her. She noticed him talking on his cell phone with his penis out of his shorts.
After he went by, he approached her once again and she saw that he was now fumbling with his shorts’ zipper. Not having a cell phone with her, the woman then moved into the street to avoid the flasher and later called police.
Not long afterward, a female jogger saw the same boy skateboarding on Nearwater Lane near Juniper Road. She described the boy as being a white male, 15 to 17 years of age, 6 feet tall, blue eyes and wearing a royal blue shirt. The boy skated past her, turned around and approached her several times. Each time he approached her, she saw him fondling himself while attempting to expose himself, police said.
She did not have a cell phone either, and called police when she got home. Neither victim knew who the boy was, and police could find him when they checked the area.
