MEN’S COLLEGE LACROSSE
He’s Darien’s top all-time scorer, picked by Duke only after his sophomore year.
So it’s probably no surprise that as Case Matheis (DHS Class of 2012) sets out to take on the college game, back he finds himself one highly touted entity in men’s lacrosse.
Matheis was recently named Inside Lacrosse’s No. 1 Rising College Freshman in the country.
You can see him gracing the cover of its September issue, just as he stood out for the Wave these past four years.
Matheis is the first Connecticut player to ever be chosen for IL’s top such honor.
Joining Matheis, Wave classmates, scorer Henry West and Tony Britton as the only public school players from the state to make the top 100.
West is ranked at No. 17, defenseman Britton 36th.
The Duke recruiting class is ranked No. 3 behind North Carolina and Virginia.
