Flipping through this newspaper over the last few weeks reads more like episodes of Law & Order rather than The Darien Times.
Identity theft, cocaine dealing, voyeur camera set up in restroom, counterfeit bills, fake gift cards, break-ins.
And that’s all we know about.
The Darien Police Department has been busy busting an assortment of criminals, once again proving that despite Darien’s proximity to larger cities with more active crime rates, the only rates the department seems to increase is the number of crimes prevented.
The department should be commended for continuing to be Darien’s first line of defense against a varied array of crimes.
And because, unlike Law & Order, most Darien cases end up, if not with a happy ending, with a bad guy being caught, and a likely spree of crime stopped in its tracks.
