Tokeneke Warriors sink Shorehaven

Tokeneke Club Warriors celebrate a recent win over Shorehaven.

The Tokeneke Warriors Club swimming team, coached by Jackson Kiniry, recently beat  Shorehaven 281-228 in their home pool.

Highlights of the meet included a strong showing from the 8U boys with a first, second or third in every event.

And the 8U girls had second and third place finishes.

Beginning in the diving well, Tokeneke saw first place finishes from Grace Aronsohn, Noelle Kennedy, Steven Kreuch and Elizabeth Fitzpatrick, and second place awards given to Jamison Moore, Cole Anderson and Grace Casolo, plus a third place to Peyton Rooney.

Despite the solid effort by Tokeneke divers, the final score placed Shorehaven in the lead by one point.

The swimming segment started with the boys 200 medley relay, a very tight race won by Shorehaven by a mere 6/100 of a second.

Tokeneke turned things around by winning the girls’ 200 medley relay, with the solid team of Regan Keady, Grace Casolo, Caroline weeks and Arden Anderson.

In butterfly, Tokeneke had first place finishes from seven-year-old Luke Anderson (8U boys), Ridgely Gargano (10U girls), Jack Trismen (14U boys), Caroline Weeks (14U girls) and Connor Stephens (17U boys).

Second place was awarded to  Sebastian Mengwall (8U boys), Kristin Kennedy (8U girls), Henry Foster (10U boys), Kit Arrix (10U girls), Grant Goodrick (12U boys), Caroline Casolo (12U girls), and Sabrina McDonnell (17U girls) who swam up an age bracket in all three of her events.

Third places finishers included Noelle Kennedy (10U girls) and Ben Tweedy (17U boys.

In the breaststroke, Tokeneke finished off the afternoon with first places from Brennan Moore (8U boys), Noelle Kennedy (10U girls), Peter Trismen (14U boys), and second place finishes from Kristin Kennedy (8U girls), Henry Foster (10U boys), Ridgely Gargano (10U girls), Jamison Moore (12U boys), Peter Mahony (14U boys), Elizabeth Ferguson (14U girls), Arthur Doelp (17U boys) and Grace Casolo (17U girls). Sebastian Mengwall (8/u boys), Nina Ahl (8U girls), Kit Arrix (10U girls), Alex Galik (12U boys), Annie Arrix (12U girls), and Signe Ahl (17U girls) all placed third.

Tokeneke won three events in the Individual Medleys from swimmers Jamison Moore (10U boys), Arden Anderson (10U girls), and Caroline Weeks (14U girls).

Strong seconds came from Grant Goodrick (10U boys), Jack Gabriel (12U boys), Regan Keady (12U girls), Jack Trismen (14U boys), Connor Stephens (17U boys), and Sabrina McDonnell (17U girls).

Third place was awarded to Robbie Stewart (12U boys), Caroline Casolo (12U girls), and Peter Trismen (14U boys).

Wining the backstroke Brennan Moore (8U boys), Cole Anderson (10U boys), Arden Anderson (10U girls), Regan Keady (12U girls), Elizabeth Ferguson (14U girls), and Signe Ahl (17U girls).

Second place finishers included Daniela Galik (8U girls), Grant Goodrick (10U boys), Marley McCarthy (10/u girls), Jack Gabriel (12/u boys), Peter Trismen (14/u boys), and Arthur Doelp (17/u boys).  Coming in third were Robbie Stewart (12U boys), and James Solberg (14/u boys).

Tokeneke took seven of 10 freestyle events.  Winners included Brennan Moore (8U boys), Kristin Kennedy (8U girls), Henry Foster (10U boys), Arden Anderson (10U girls), Caroline Weeks (14U girls), Connor Stephens (17U boys) and Grace Casolo (17U girls).

Strong second places were awarded to Bridget Moore (8U girls), Kit Arrix (10 girls), Jack Gabriel (12U boys), Regan Keady (12U girls), Stephen Kreuch (14U boys), and Signe Ahl (17U girls).

Coming in third were Sebastian Mengwall (8U boys), Nina Ahl (8U girls), Grace Aronsohn (10U girls), Alex Galik (12U boys), Jack Trismen (14U boys), and Elizabeth Ferguson (14U girls).

Coming into the final two events, the freestyle medleys, Tokeneke had a solid lead, and continued on to win the girls freestyle medley with the team of Elizabeth Ferguson, Ridgely Gargano, Caroline Casolo and Signe Ahl.
