FIGURE SKATING
Darien nine-year-old Caitlin Chan has kept cool by staying hot while competing on the ice this summer.
The Springdale Figure Skating Club standout was first in the 2012 Central Eastern Regional Competition in Bridgeport on June 16, beating out eight girls in the Pre-Preliminary Test Track Free Skate.
In the 2012 Nutmeg State Games Figure Skating Test Track Pre-Preliminary in Newington on July 7 she placed second out of seven girls.
Chan qualifies for the 2013 State Games of America in Hershey-Harrisburg, Penn.
