A Stamford man’s failure to keep prescription painkillers in its proper container led to his arrest on Thursday, July 19.
While investigating a call from Grieb’s Pharmacy that a man came into that store wearing a bulletproof vest on May 31, police learned that Donald Jones, 35, had 19 pills in his pocket. He was not wearing a bulletproof vest, police said.
Police released Jones until they confirmed that the pills were OxyContin-type narcotics, which were not in its original pill bottle. Jones turned himself in to police after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was released on a written promise to appear in court on Monday, July 30.
