A Darien man faces drunk driving charges after falling asleep at the I-95 south exit 11 traffic light on Monday, July 16.
Police said that Maximo Reyes, 38, of West Avenue, was driving a 1996 Chrysler Town & Country just before midnight when an officer saw him stopped at a green light. Police approached the van and saw Reyes asleep at the wheel, police said, with the engine still running.
Police struggled to wake Reyes, and as he regained consciousness, the van began to move forward. Police then pulled the parking brake and took the keys from the ignition, police said.
Reyes failed his field sobriety tests and was arrested. He posted at $250 bond and has court on Friday, July 27.
