A security tag alarm system helped workers at Double Exposure catch a would-be shoplifter who police say tried to lift a $6 ring and $78 handbag on Tuesday, July 3.
Police arrived to the Post Road shop at 11:56 a.m. and learned that Jessica Bocchetta, 30, of Stamford was caught on camera removing a silver handbag and putting it into her basket. Police also found a $6 pink rhinestone ring in Bocchetta’s purse.
Two other patrons were stopped when the alarm went off, but police said they had paid for their merchandise. Bocchetta was arrested, posted a $100 bond, and has court on Friday, July 13.
