Are you looking for a deal? Or maybe you just need a good excuse to stroll through downtown Darien, Noroton Heights or Goodwives Shopping Plaza. If so, the next three days are for you: The Darien Chamber of Commerce annual Sidewalk Sales & Family Fun Days return Thursday-Saturday, July 12-14, from 9-5. And there will be fun for shoppers of all ages.
This sales features Darien merchants exhibiting along the Post Road, Tokeneke Road and the Goodwives and Noroton Heights shopping centers. Many bargains, with discounts of up to 70%, are expected to be offered.
On Saturday, Day Street will be closed to vehicular traffic to permit more people to stroll, enjoy the shade, a hot dog truck and hanging flower baskets and the inflatable children’s entertainment. There will be gift bags and free balloons from the many new shops on Tokeneke Road.
Children’s entertainment is planned for Friday and Saturday on the Post Road. On Saturday there will be children’s entertainment in Noroton Heights; there will also be more for children in front of William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty on Day Street — and behind First County Bank & 1020 Post Road building to draw shoppers.
On Friday there will be face painters in front of First County Bank, and on Saturday there will be face painters in Noroton Heights by Edward Tunick Men’s Clothier.
The title sponsor for Darien Sidewalk Sales & Family Fun Days is First County Bank; elite sponsors are Darien Rowayton Bank and Tibbetts, Keating & Butler LLC.
