Whit McCarthy greets the fans in Coronado.
LACROSSE
Whit McCarthy (DHS 2006), an All-American and Colby College Class of ’10 D III Honorable Mention All-American, played in his first professional lacrosse game for Team East in the LXM Pro Tour in Coronado, California on June 23.
McCarthy, preparing to hit the professional field, was a standout for the Wave and then Colby.
McCarthy scored twice and had an assist in Team East’s 17-14 loss to Team STX West.
He played with lacrosse greats John Christmas (UVA), Graham Gill (Navy), Sean Lindsay (Syracuse), Brett Moyer (Syracuse), Brandon Corp (Colgate), and against lacrosse greats Kyle Harrison (Johns Hopkins), Shamel and Rhamel Bratton (UVA), Zach Brenneman (Notre Dame), Sam Bradman (Salisbury) and many more.
Now living in Hermosa Beach, CA where he runs By Hand Granola — a family run business with his mother, Darien resident Suzy and sister Kelly (DHS ’12) — McCarthy is also a lacrosse coach at Palos Verdes High School.
Next stop: the LXM Pro Tour in Seattle on Aug. 11.
