Are you proud of your singing voice, but rarely use it outside of the shower? Why not join the DCA Blue Notes?
Founded over 60 years ago, the Blue Notes are a philanthropic group of women that use their voices for a good cause. Singing four-part harmony, covering music from Big Band to Broadway, the group performs at senior centers and assisted living venues throughout Southern Fairfield County. Their director Dr. Craig Scott Symons is also the director of the First Congregational Church of Greenwich choir. But it’s not all work – this is a very social group whose members over time form strong bonds.
The Blue Notes’ schedule is generally set for Tuesdays from 12:30-2:30, though performances at times vary. Rehearsals begin in the fall, with performances from late October.
The Blue Notes also show their interest in philanthropy with their membership in the DCA, where their funds provide scholarships for Darien High School students. Other than this membership — $85 for individuals — there are no fees to join.
