After refusing to cooperate with police over a violation of the town’s dog leash ordinance, a Norwalk woman faces several charges for having her Border Collie off-leash in Cherry Lawn Park on Tuesday, June 12.
Police said that Lynne Ward, 61, was walking her dog sans leash at around 9 a.m. when an animal control officer approached her and told her she was in violation of the town’s leash ordinance and that she would be issued a ticket. Ward followed the officer to the her car, and when asked for a driver’s license, Ward refused to cooperate, according to police.
She then got in her car and left with her dog while the officer recorded her license plate number. After learning the car was in her name, police called Ward but she again refused to cooperate and ended the call, police said. Police went to her home on Tommy Lane and cited her for interfering with an officer, failure to license a dog, and violation of town’s leash law. She has court on Monday, June 25.
