Wednesdays: Farmer’s market returns to downtown Darien

Darien Farmers Market 2012

The popular Darien Farmers Market comes to Mechanic Street, behind the Darien Firehouse, each Wednesday. All the farmers and produce come from Connecticut. The market, which returned in May is open Wednesdays, from 11-4, through December.

There are a lot of early crops that will be for sale at the markets opening including lettuce and other greens.

You’ll also find Connecticut meats, baked goods and the produce you’ve come to expect each year at the market.

The year’s vendors include Beaver Brook Farm of Lyme, Gazy Brothers Farm of Oxford, Goat Boy Soaps of New Milford, Moorefield Herb Farm of Trumbull, Newgate Farms of East Granby, Ox Hollow Farm of Roxbury, Plasko’s Farm of Trumbull, Riverbank Certified Organic Farm of Roxbury, Smith’s Acres of Niantic, Woodland Farm of South Glastonbury and the Whistle Stop Bakery of Ridgefield.
