Letter: Thanks for supporting Calamba

To the Editor:

The charity Calamba had a very successful year, raising school supplies, clothing, and money for the children in Calamba, Philippines.

On behalf of Calamba members, I would like to publicly thank Royle, Tokeneke, and Ox Ridge schools. Those three schools helped Calamba greatly, by participating in our drive; the principals (Mr. Margolus, Ms. Michelson, Mr. Forshaw) couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful.

All clothing and school supplies that were raised will help a child in Calamba who cannot afford some of the basic necessities.

However, shipping costs to the Philippines is very expensive and it would not be possible for us to do without The Depot’s Student Governing Board. They helped by holding a dance and giving all the proceeds to Calamba. Calamba would not be possible without The Depot.

They have helped us with everything we have desired. And lastly, we would like to thank everyone who donated to and/or helped Calamba.

Calamba is based out of The Depot and run by seniors Ashley Penfield and Courtney Mahoney
