Get your gear talk ready for the eighth annual Darien Car Show, which rolls into Tilley Pond Park on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16, from 11 to 2.
Organizer Charlie England expects 120 vintage and modern high performance cars will be on display. Father’s Day in the park has become a celebration of families, fathers, seldom seen cars and food provided by the Lion’s Club.
Last year, organizers welcomed almost 2,000 spectators despite shortening the show from four hours to three, and the quality of the cars keeps getting better. The show benefits Aging in Place+Gallivant, which provides transportation and other services to area seniors. The group is a 501(c)3 non-profit so all contribution are tax deductible.
“We are grateful to our sponsors for their continuing support,” England said. Sponsors include BMW Darien/Callari Group, GPNY, Automotive Restorations Inc, the Genesee and Wyoming Railroad, and Dragone Classic Motorcars.
