The YWCA Darien/Norwalk Newcomers Club will hosts a spring wine and cheese ladies night on Wednesday, May 9, at 7:30 at a Darien home.
New Darienites who are interested in joining the YWCA are welcome to attend this event, which is also open to current YWCA Newcomers Club members.
The YW Newcomers Club plans events throughout the year but this is the first year that the YWCA Newcomers Club will host a Wine & Cheese Ladies Night in May. Historically, the Newcomers have held this event in both October and January at a member’s home.
The YWCA Newcomers Club is designed to help women new to the community to quickly feel at home. There are plenty of opportunities to make new friends through activities including informal playgroups, a monthly book club, ladies nights, volunteering opportunities and couples events including gourmet and winetasters groups.
“When I moved to town, everyone told me to join the YWCA Newcomers Club and that’s how I made my best friends here,” said Sara Parent, YW member.
