 Belly Dancer, Sirica Linda

Nothing says Love like a Belly Dance performance. Belly Dancer Sirica Linda will be here to finish off our romantic month of programs on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 12:30. Linda has studied belly dancing all over the world. She is trained in Egyptian, Turkish, Moroccan, Lebanese, Israeli and Greek belly dancing. She will be here performing with a variety of props — veils, Wings of Isis, candelabra, and a sword.

Come be hypnotized by the beautiful belly dance moves. Lunch, for $4, will be served at noon and the entertainment (free of charge) begins at 12:30. Make lunch reservations by 11 that morning.

 Upcoming health and well-being programs

With spring just around the corner, there is no better time to focus on your health and well being. Hope Street Pharmacy will begin their monthly presentations with a program titled “Herbals and their Interactions” on Wednesday, March 13 at 12:30.

Premier Physical Therapy will be hosting an “Aches and Pains” clinic on Tuesday, April 9. They will be offering free ten minute checks by appointment only. Stamford Hospital will begin monthly visits on April 22 with a lunch (complimentary with sign up) and learn titled “How to live to 100.” Please pick up a newsletter for sign up instructions and mark your calendars for these not to be missed programs.

Computer Class with Frank Billowitz

Frank Billowitz is continuing his popular beginner computer course on Wednesdays, from 10:30 to 12:30. The course will consist of 8 weeks of lessons-each week will have a different topic. Frank will be running a continuous loop of these 8 classes, so if you miss one or would like a refresher course for a topic you will always have the opportunity to attend the class again. Please call or stop in for a newsletter so see Frank’s current topic.

 Art classes

The senior center has a number of wonderful art classes being offered throughout the year on a weekly basis. Now that the weather is getting cooler, come in and pick up on an old talent, or learn a new one.

Watercolor class is offered on Wednesdays at 10 and acrylic class is Thursday at 10:00. Both classes are tough by William Kirsch. Bill studied at the Artists School in Westport, and the Silvermine Guild Arts Center in New Canaan. Friday at the center is Oil painting instruction offered by Althea Erricson who attended NY School of Design and Parsons. All art classes are on a drop in basis and cost $4.
