This week, The Darien Times features Darien High School sweethearts for Valentine’s Day. 
Class: Karen Nielsen, Class of 1988 Michael Kuehler, Class of 1986
How they met: “We met in 1985 at Darien High school outside of photography class. He asked me if he could take my picture and I laughed…we’ve been laughing ever since. Our 20th wedding anniversary is next week, Feb. 20”
Status now: The couple has three children, Jimmy, 8, Riley, 13, and Nicholas, 15. Karen has a local family business, Nielsen’s Florist with my two sisters, Tami Whittier, Sandy Nielsen Baumann and my brother, Jerry Nielsen. Mike is a partner with Brad Lareau at iTownstore.com, a local apparel printing company.
Why did they choose to stay in Darien: Mike and I moved back to Darien from Chicago to raise our children around family and friends.
