BOYS HOCKEY
Tough a blow as it was to let slip a three-goal lead — especially when going for first place down the home stretch of the season — Wave boys puck’s 4-4 OT tie with St. Joseph was a clutch event for DHS.
Hanging on, then knotting it on Trent Bergin’s tally, then holding it all even again in overtime, means there’s still just one team left in the FCIAC that hasn’t lost.
The Wave (7-0-1 FCIAC).
Holding that thought will take some doing.
Following the challenge from the Cadets (6-1-1), Darien has last regular season league matches vs. Ridgefield (8-1) and New Canaan (7-1) looming.
Here are some moments from a game where seconds often stretched into an eternity, on Wednesday.
