GYMNASTICS
With only four gymnasts — Kellie Arvelo, Nikki Carlo, Kelsey Fedorko, and Charlotte Henry — the Level 7 Darien Y Travel team finished top three at the American Invitational at the XL Center in Hartford recently.
Placing third, Darien gymnasts earned their highest scores on vault.
Carlo scored a 9.5 on the table, taking first, while Fedorko scored 9.3, good for second place.
Henry took fourth place with a 9.15.
Arvelo, who is competing in her last Level 7 meet before moving on to Level 8, took the lead on the uneven bars with a 9.4, first-place finish.
Carlo also excelled with a 8.75, third-place performance.
On beam, it was Carlo and Arvelo that led the team with high scores of 9.0 and 8.75, respectively.
Fedorko led the team on floor with a 9.2, placing fifth in a competitive field of five teams.
