Darien gymnasts have found their way to next door Arena Gymnastics over the years, and so will a significant other on Friday night.
Arena Gymnastics in Stamford recently announced that the 6th annual “Meet the Team” Exhibition Fundraiser is schedule for Friday night, and will include a very special guest.
2012 US Olympian and current US National Champion, John Orozco, will be stopping by Arena Gymnastics to promote the 2013 Visa Championships, being held at the XL Center in Hartford, Aug. 15-18.
Arena Gymnastics will be showcasing the talent of their Level 7 through Level 10 gymnasts in a competition format, as they prepare to travel to St. Louis, Missouri and Lake Bueno Vista, Florida to compete among some of the best gymnasts in the country.
New Canaan’s three-time Eastern National Champion, Caroline Fitzpatrick will be performing for the last time at Arena, as she prepares to graduate high school and attend Central Michigan University in the fall, where she has signed her letter of intent to compete for the Chippewas.
Orozco will speak about the Visa Championships, the first step of his journey to compete at the Olympics in Rio in 2016. John will be signing autographs after the Exhibition. A representative from the XL Center will be accepting ticket orders for the Visa Championships, at a reduced “early bird” price that ends on Feb. 3.
Friday’s events begin at 7:30 p.m. at
Arena Gymnastics, 911 Hope Street, Stamford.
