BOYS INDOOR TRACK
The Darien boys’ indoor track and field team had an excellent showing at the Yale Invitational on Saturday.
Nick Lombardo led the way for the Blue Wave placing fifth in the high jump at 6-3. Spencer McKeough was eighth in the shot put with a personal best of 45-9.75.

On the track, Darien was a force in the 3,000, with five performances that qualified for states including Alex Ostberg (9:06.15), Marshall Huffman (9:09.35), Peter Kreuch (9:13.69), Brian Davey (9:20.85) and Armstrong Noonan (9:34.55).
On Friday at the same meet, the boys’ team continued to shine.
Davey, Kreuch, Huffman and Spencer McMullin combined to place second in the Conn. distance medley in 10:55.53. McMullin was also Darien’s top finisher in the 300 in 37.28. Cameron Smith also ran well in 37.51 and Lombardo was 37.52.
Lombardo combined with C.J. Raia, Smith and Will Ardery to place fifth in the state 4×400 large (division) in 3:35.85.
Darien returns to action on Friday at Wilton HS for the FCIAC East Championship.
