Meg Marren led Darien with 17 points in a 56-38 win against visiting Greenwich on Friday.

Marren, out for a spell injured early in the new year, went 3-for-6 from the foul line, had five rebounds, four steals and made six blocks.

“This was one of our best games yet, from start to finish,” Wave first-year coach Katie Lauten said.

Emily Stein scored 12 points, had six assists, six steals, two rebounds.

“Emily sees the court extremely well and made a lot of good things happen,” said Lauten. “She tore their defense apart.”

Darien led 19-15 after one period and 29-19 at the half. A 12-4 third quarter advantage put it away early for the Wave.

Kelly Karczewski scored nine points including landing a three, had two assists, two steals and a rebound, Kate Fiore scored six points, had three rebounds, one block, Kendra Fitzpatrick added four points, went 2-for-4 from the line and had a steal, Ali Aparicio had two points, four rebounds and an assist, Dagny Belak two points, Claire Naughton two points, three rebounds an assist and a block, Kate Bushell four rebounds, an assist, three steals, two blocks, Erin Karczewski two points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal and Kaeleigh Morrill got into the game.
