Expensive and heavy generator stolen, removed neatly and orderly

A $10,500 generator was stolen from a Pear Tree Point Road home in Darien while the owners were in Florida. Police said the Generac generator, which weighs roughly 1,200 pounds, was stolen sometime between Christmas of 2012 and Wednesday, Jan. 9, when the theft was discovered. The unit was removed in a neat and orderly manner with all electrical and gas connections properly disconnected, police said.
