Senator Bob Duff, a Democrat from Norwalk, has been appointed by Senate President Pro Tempore Donald E. Williams, Jr. (D-Brooklyn) to serve as Senate Chair of the General Assembly’s Energy & Technology Committee.
“Energy & Technology is a very important legislative committee, and I am pleased to have the opportunity to serve as the panel’s co-chair after having been a member for many years,” Duff said.
“As the state forges ahead with the adoption of our Comprehensive Energy Strategy, it is an exciting time to be working on energy issues. These are matters of enormous importance to our economy and economic development, for homeowners and businesses alike.”
Duff was also appointed to serve as vice chair of the Committee on Children, and as a member of both the Appropriations Committee and the Regulations Review Committee.
Duff’s committee appointments will continue through the rest of the current legislative term, till the end of 2014.
“I am looking forward to a really exciting session this year. We will be working hard to create economic opportunities for more people, to revive Connecticut’s economy and address this stubborn recession. A balanced budget is a top priority as well, in addition to transportation, school safety and education issues,” he said.
