Darien Police arrested a Glenvale Avenue man for driving while intoxicated and failing to drive right on Thursday, Jan. 10. The arrest stems from an accident on December 1, 2012.
Police said Robert Kinnie, 44, was driving a 2012 Land Rover south on Hoyt Street at 11:30 p.m. near Barringer Road when he crossed over the centerline of the road and collided with a 2001 GMC heading toward him. As a result of the collision, Kinnie incurred minor injury and was taken to Stamford Hospital by Darien-EMS Post 53. Officers obtained a search warrant for medical records which determined that Kinnie’s blood alcohol level was over the legal limit, police said. The warrant for his arrest was then applied for.
Kinnie was contacted, advised of the arrest warrant, and turned himself in. He posted a $250 bond and has court on Monday, Jan. 21.
