A winter weather advisory for snow, sleet and freezing rain was issued for interior southern Connecticut on Tuesday morning. It is in effect from midnight to 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Snow accumulation is expected to be one to two inches along with a tenth of an inch of ice, according to the National Weather Service.
Snow is expected to begin around midnight then change to a snow and sleet mix or freezing rain by Wednesday morning.
Hazardous travel is expected during the Wednesday morning commute, according to the weather service.
Darien will have a chance of rain before 1 a.m., then rain, snow, and sleet. Low temperatures will be around 32 degrees. North wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
On Wednesday rain, snow, and sleet could hit Darien before 1 p.m., then a chance of rain. High temps near 40 degrees on Wednesday, with a northeast wind 5 to 9 mph becoming west in the afternoon.
