Visibility in Darien and the area could be less than a quarter mile Saturday night into Sunday morning, according to a dense-fog advisory issued by the National Weather Service Saturday afternoon, Jan. 12.
The dense-fog advisory is for southern Connecticut and the surrounding area, including New York City and Long Island. It is in effect from midnight to 10 a.m. Sunday.
It’s been foggy in the area most of Saturday and that fog is supposed to start getting thicker as it gets darker. Visibility is expected to be “one quarter mile or less at times,” according to the weather service, from “late tonight into Sunday morning.”
A dense fog advisory is issued when visibility is expected to be a quarter mile or less. “If driving, slow down, use your low-beam headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you in case a sudden stop is needed.”
