At its monthly meeting Wednesday the Darien Republican Town Committee chose Guy Wisinski to fill the vacancy left by Dick DiDonna who resigned last month to join the Planning & Zoning Commission.
Wisinski, a graduate of Plymouth State University, is currently the director of business development for a fine goods retailer, has lived in Darien for 22 years with his wife and three children. His past volunteer experience includes various board positions locally and out of state as well as time spent as a former member of the RTC.
RTC Chairman Bob Bewkes commented on how several proficient candidates made the decision difficult and the vote close. “We are pleased at the number of talented Republicans that are interested in volunteering for service to their town”.
The RTC also recommended Eric Joosten for the Environmental Protection Commission.
Joosten, a lifetime resident of Darien, is a graduate of Trinity College and the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He is currently a finance executive at a global investment bank and has held various positions in town government including on the RTC where he was a former chairman. Joosten is married with three children.
Individuals interested in serving on Darien boards and commissions should send an application, found on darienrtc.com and resume to Seth Morton at [email protected].
