ORIGINAL REPORT:
A Honda Odyssey ended up sideways on McLaren Road, off Leroy Avenue, with a driver trapped inside, after a collision with another vehicle, police reported on Wednesday, Jan. 9.
Darien volunteer firefighters, Darien EMS-Post 53, and Darien police responded to the scene on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 9.
An ambulance took one patient to the hospital, police said, and later removed a man from the minivan. The whole process took some time while firefighters tied the car to a nearby tree and lifted one side by placing wooden planks undernath.
It was unclear how the man was taken out from the minivan, but his injuries appeared non-life-threatening.
