Senior Lily Christensen’s best defense was her offense, scoring a hat trick and adding an assist in Darien’s 9-0 win over the Wilton-Norwalk-Staples co-op team Monday at home.

Darien (6-0-1) scored two in the first period, four in the second and three in the third.

Georgia Cassidy scored the first goal with an assist from Sage Thacher less than one minute into the game and Christensen scored at the end of the period.

Second period: Marissa Baker scored with an assist from Christy Conley; Cassidy scored again with assists from Julia Arrix and Schuyler van den Broek; Christensen scored with an assist from Thacher; and Arrix scored on her own with one minute left in the period.

In the third period it was Ellie Bennett on a set up from Christensen; van den Broek scoring unassisted; and Christensen finishing the night with the hat trick with a helper from Sammy Nielsen.

Izzy Scribano sealed the shutout making eight saves.

Brooke Jonsson was in goal for Wilton/N/S making 58 saves.

Darien launched 67 shots on goal.

Wilton/N/S had eight shots on goal.
