Tree Conservancy of Darien sponsors photo contest

Tree Conservancy of Darien has a photography contest for all ages: “Celebration of Trees”.  It is open to anyone who resides or works in Darien. Submitted photographs will help showcase the historic, the majestic and the most attractive and unusual of our town’s trees.

Take a photo of a Darien tree, or submit a tree photo you’ve taken in the last two years.  All accepted photos will be matted and displayed at the Darien Nature Center from Friday, March 1 to Friday, April 19, 2013. Photographs will be judged by a panel of tree and photography experts, and prizes will be awarded in several categories.

An opening reception will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Darien Nature Center from 6 – 8 p.m.

The Tree Conservancy of Darien is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the tree and forest resources of Darien for the benefit of the community, its health and its quality of life.  Our goals are to educate the community about the value of trees; identify and revitalize significant (heritage) trees in town; establish a stewardship program for the care and maintenance of existing trees; and protect and augment our community trees, both public and private.
