On Thursday, Darien resumes an unbeaten season it left off with a hard earned 3-3 tie vs. Simsbury before Christmas.

The Wave plays Fairfield at Wonderland next.

But in its last game of 2012 it had to dig deep to stave off also undefeated Simsbury at home on Dec. 22.

Darien (4-0-1) and Simsbury were tied 1-1 after one, the visitors went up 3-1 after two periods and the Wave roared into the station with two goals in the third.

Lauren Cicero scored with an assist from Allegra Molkenthin in the first period.

In the third it was Schuyler van den Broek from Julia Arrix.

And Georgia Cassidy skated through all the Simsbury defenders to breakaway with the tying goal in the third as well.

Overtime was a lock.

Izzy Scribano was in goal for the first and second periods, making nine saves.

Shannon Hall came in for the third, making four saves, and stopped five in OT.
