The Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
The agenda includes presentations on proposed new courses for Darien High School, an update on the completed renovation of the high school’s fitness center. The board will hear about the updated six-year capital plan and the 2012-2013 district budget.
Superintendent Dr. Stephen Falcone is expected to initiate a preliminary discussion of school facility usage. School capacity has been a topic of discussion for Darien’s Board of Ed and Board of Finance meetings in recent weeks. The board will also hear a proposal from the Darien Athletic Foundation, a group formed with support from various town teams to raise money for athletics.
Action items include possible acceptance of gifts from the Blue Wave Booster Club and the Darien Technology Foundation for Technology and Community. The board will also vote on renaming the Board Public Information Committee to the Facilities and Capital Committee.
The meeting is expected to adjourn at 10:30 p.m.
