Megan Thayer Nelson, daughter of Andrew and Mary Nelson of Darien, was married to Shawn Lajpat Ratwani, son of Patricia and Lajpat Ratwani of Harleysville, Pa., on Dec. 1.
The ceremony was held at St. Thomas More Church in Darien and was officiated by Father Paul G. Murphy. A reception followed at Woodway Country Club.
Katharine Nelson (DHS Class of ‘06) was maid of honor for her sister. The bridesmaids were: Claire Nelson (DHS Class of ‘08), Caitlin Maguire (DHS Class of ‘04), Avery Spalding (DHS Class of ‘04), Tyler Chapman (Megan’s cousin), Lauren Boroski of Philadelphia, Pa. & Laura Secrest Zengilowski of New York City.
Congbai Li of Philadelphia, Penn. was best man. Ushers were: Sam Nelson (DHS Class of ’11), Zenith Shah, Frank Dougherty, Charles Fofana, Scott Duggan and Kris Ratwani (brother of the groom).
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Darien High School. She received a bachelor of science from Washington & Lee University and a bachelor of nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently a surgical nurse at Princeton Hospital in Princeton, N.J.
The groom is a graduate of Drexel University and is a portfolio manager with BlackRock in Wilmington, Del.
The bride and groom honeymooned in St. Lucia. They live in Philadelphia, Pa.
