On Tuesday, Dec. 5, the Darien Republican Town Committee held a special meeting to interview six individuals who came forward to fill the vacancy created by Reese Hutchison’s recent resignation from the Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z).
After interviewing the individuals, all of whom have a long history of community service, the RTC unanimously recommended Dick DiDonna, Spencer McIllmurray, Steve Olvany and John Sini.
“Dick, Spencer, Steve and John offer varying skills that we feel would be valuable to P&Z and the residents of Darien” said Bob Bewkes, RTC Chairman.
Seth Morton, chairman of the recruitment committee said “the RTC is grateful to receive applications from a large group of qualified individuals willing to serve on P&Z and other important boards and commissions in town.”
“Without these volunteers Darien would not function in the manner which we have all become accustomed to,”
The RTC also acknowledged Reese Hutchison for his commitment and service to the Planning & Zoning Commission.
Individuals interested in serving on Darien boards and commissions should send an application, found on www.darienrtc.com and resume to Seth Morton at [email protected].
