Darien marks its triple-crown taking season following winning the open with one last jump in the pool last month.

The triple-champion Wave girls’ swim-dive team has been honored further, with a citation from the State of Conn marking Monday as the team’s official day.
In a Special Statement from Governor Dannel P. Malloy, as highlighted with the issuing of a document and seal, the Wave was applauded for its “hard work and persistence.”
The document expressed its congratulation to: “the entire team on winning the CIAC State Open Championship, the FCIAC Championship and the State Class L Championship thereby ending the season in a historic fashion.”
Darien won the state open for the first time ever this season.
