In what has become a time-honored Thanksgiving tradition in our town, Darien’s three volunteer fire departments competed against each other this weekend in the annual Hydrant Bowl — a friendly touch football competition.
This year’s award goes to the Noroton Heights Fire Department. Despite the grueling competition, the team was able to bring home the win, the trophy and above all, bragging rights. Members of the Darien Fire Department and Noroton Fire Department, despite morale crushing defeats, vow to return next year with stronger and faster teams.
