In its first meeting after Election Day, Darien’s Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. This meeting will include new board member Katie Stein, and re-elected members Elizabeth Hagerty-Ross and Sarah Schneider-Zuro.
Board members will discuss accepting gifts from the Holmes School Parent Teacher Organization. They will also discuss the 2012-2013 budget, preliminary major budget proposals for 2013-2014, approving budget transfers, the updated six year capital plan. Richard Huot, finance director, will present a report on development of systems for ongoing monitoring of the district budget. The board will also hear a report on the condition of the school’s fields. Action items include accepting the revised Spanish IV and Comparative World Religions curriculums.
One resignation is listed on the agenda, reported yesterday as that of Matt Byrnes, current assistant superintendent for secondary education.
The meeting is expected to last until 10:00 p.m.
