Drop off hurricane donations at Hindley Saturday

The Apaches of the Darien YMCA Guides and Princesses Nation will be collecting and transporting the most needed goods to the most affected areas of Queens and Brooklyn this Saturday.  Please help us with this effort by dropping off any/all of the most needed supplies (see list below) in the front parking lot of Hindley School in Darien between 9 a.m. and Noon this Saturday, Nov. 10.  Darien’s first through fifth grade sons, daughters and Dads of the Darien Nation will be there to help load the items and bring them down to various Occupy Sandy and FEMA Disaster Centers in Brooklyn, Far Rockaway and Breezy Point.

Most needed items are:
-Bottled Water
-Cleaning Supplies (Brooms, Mops, Cleaners, Bleach)
-Garbage Bags (Heavy Duty)
-Plastic Storage Bins
-Packing Supplies
-Plastic Tables and Chairs
-Clothing-Winter gear only (jackets, gloves, etc), but no general clothes
-Blankets
-Candles
-Flashlights
-Lights/Lanterns
-Batteries
-Diapers and Wipes
-Rubber Gloves
-Masks
-Rubber boots
-Serving dishes and utensils
-Anything that produces heat
-Non-Perishables (Canned goods, soups, vegetables)
-Meat/Chicken/Ground Beef, Vegetables
-Dry goods and ready to eat food (Cereal, power bars, granola, crackers, etc)
